Another piece for the Calder Gallery, UK. The exhibition preview is on 9th March and I still have pieces not finished, so Im working all hours at the minute! If you would like an invitation to the preview evening please email me.
Thanks Diana and Dors, hopefully this will be a good exhibition too;) Im glad you find the expressions varied Maria! Thanks a lot Roby and Sheila really appreciate that! Haha Rahina, strangely my favourite viewpoint-that only applies to cows though;)
Gosh, Sam, now that you asked, I'd love an invitation, an airline ticket and a kiss from Buttercup :). She's beautiful and I'm sure your exhibition will be wonderful!
Hi Sam, I'm with Sandy...an invitation, an airline ticket and a kiss from Buttercup- Perfect! My husband and I were vegetarians but have now gone vegan - even animals providing dairy and eggs end up on the factory farm slaughterhouse floors (horror chambers - just read "Eating Animals" a book that is a disturbing eye opener). Do you take your own photos of animals for your work?
Thank you Sandra, Michelle and Sunny! Nearly done Sue, just might be a bit wet still) Haha Sandy and Karen yes to the kiss and the inviation the tickets might be a bit beyond my means;O) I think I would find it very difficult to give up dairy Karen, perhaps I should read that book, is it by Jonathan Safran? And yes all my own photos unless I state otherwise. Photographing and spending time with the animals is perhaps the most exciting bit)
I love this perspective sam!!! just perfect. good luck, i hope you get everything done in time and the paintings fly off the wall, i would dearly love to attend if i were there. all the best, suz
fabulous piece Sam, Buttercup is adorable. All the best with your exhibition, I know it is such a frantic time before a show, so much to do. I hope you can enjoy the opening night and just take it all in.
Yes, Sam, the book I mentioned is indeed by Jonathan Safran. It is not so horrific to read that one feels one can't finish the book - he has a lighter side to him, but the basic facts are stark and very moving. I take it you live near where there are lots of domestic animals who can pose for you. I imagine you don't need to get model release forms signed by them?
Im very lucky where I live Karen inspiration on my doorstep:) I dont know if you know Deb Keirce she is an artist who works very detailed, a lot of miniature work, well she has a blog that has some great Vegan recipes: http://veganlowcarb.blogspot.com/ Thought you might find it interesting)
I so wish I could see your show in person, your animal paintings are amazing. I particularly like Buttercup here with her coloring and her gesture, well done!
She sure is 'nosey' and a cute one at that!
