Each January I will look back at my work for the previous year. Its a way for me to learn about my experiences, by seeing what I think worked and what I think didn't. I like to see what peoples comments are and perhaps read inbetween the lines. Of course I can see which ones were more popular with my customers too. Well it seems to be a trend that I get so obsessed with painting cows each year that I neglect the other animals out there. I have tried to vary my subjects a little recently, as naturally not everyone prefers cows;o)
I would like your help in answering just one question on a little survey here. It asks what your favourite animal is. This could be your favourite type of animal to be painted or your favourite animal in general. Thanks for your help!

hi Sam, I like Curly and I answered your survey yesterday. It will be interesting to see what you do with the results!
ReplyDeleteHey Cathyann, thanks! Well the results I have so far werent as expected so it will be interesting)
ReplyDeleteI took the survey and since i love every single one of the ones on there, had to pick 2. i would love to have a farm with some of all of the ones listed. nothing like a baby goat.
ReplyDeleteIs there an animal that you can't paint, Sam??
ReplyDeleteLove this one. The fur is amazing once again. The survey was difficult choosing 1 ..so I chose 2. Maybe you can paint us "the results"?
Hi Sam,
Bisous
Curly gave me tingles! I just want to snuggle up into his warm golden wool. Lovely job and I'll be taking the survey this afternoon. hugs!
ReplyDeleteI almost feel intimidated by this gorgeous character - such an intense gaze for a sheep!!! Once again Sam such beautiful use of colour that sets your subject off so well!!! I bet you cats of dogs come out tops in your survey Sam, but there are so many artists who draw and paint cats, dogs and horses and your artwork is really refreshing because you mainly focus on the farm animals.
ReplyDeleteTook the survey and will be interested to see the results. I love all your animal portraits and the fact that you concentrate so much on animals not often painted, especially in close up portrait style! Curly is just wonderful -love the little dark spots on his ears - a bit like sheep jewelry!
ReplyDeleteAn amazing job, Sam. You really captured the texture of the wool.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra me too! Thanks Hilda, Im looking forward to seeing them)
ReplyDeleteThanks Martine, yes freezing here too/
Thanks a lot Sheila! I would have thought exactly the same Karen, we will see. I do like my farm animals)
Cheers Karen, I think it may have to do with me growing up with them, the farm animals will always be great subjects for me)
ReplyDeleteThanks Edward!
I love Shetland ponies. Any portrait that has a bit of humor:)
ReplyDeletesam, curly is scrumptous! i love her. i would love to see you do an ostrich. your skill and those eyes! Wow! looking forward to whatever you do!
ReplyDeleteI really like Shetlands too Claudia) An ostrich Suzanne now that has to be the most unusual request hehe)
ReplyDeleteSam, Curly is spectacular! I admit to having a soft spot for sheep and love that you have done such a wonderful job with her. I am off to take your survey.I will probably pick them all (that will be helpful)...
ReplyDeleteHehe Sandy you pick your faves) Cheers!
ReplyDeleteStunningly beautiful Sam!! I apologize for missing your survey!
ReplyDeleteThanks Colette!
